I am so sad to hear this, really my heart just goes out to this couple..Regardless what happened or who did what I wish especially for their children, and even so for each other that they would dissolve whatever issue/s they have, go to church, get counseling, don't let the devil win here. Marriage is so special, something to be cherished and believe me I know its work, I know its hard and I know sometimes it seems easier to avoid issues or even each other for the matter than work threw them and stay together. God has to be in your marriage or it will fall, I believe that 110%. God created marriage and therefore he needs to be in it, involved, you can't take the creator out, it just doesn't work. I think when you hit rock bottom and feel like you have nothing left to offer or your just numb then take time whatever but work at it, never give up, you can't, its not worth it, you have to let God in and let him restore, mend and heal.
I know at the foundation of who they were back in the day that they were in love you could see it on film, and now between the world, and just sin, which we all have, something great, their marriage has been lost..
I'm praying for them both, and those sweet 8 children.
