Refining~We all need it..

A refining fire does not destroy or consume. Instead, it burns up what is worthless and preserves what is valuable. God says that he is a refining fire. He loves us, yet he requires a purity that only he can bring.I'm sure most of us have known a time of spiritual refreshment. I've never met a woman who hasn't been through seasons, sometimes several seasons, of refining. When God uses fire to purify our lives, there is always a pain involved. God uses the pain of affliction to take away the things that are woven into our character that are worthless and even liabilities. Impure motives are burned up. Self-importance is set ablaze.
It is right for us to regard God's refining with fear and trembling, but even in the refinement, we have such great hope. God does not destroy us, Instead, he takes away the rubbish. Refinement makes us more valuable. It gives us character. The woman on the other side of a refining fire radiates a purity given by God's mercy.
If you have walked through a refining fire, get down on your knees and cry, "Holy!" Look for God's heart and see the beauty of his mercy even in your pain. God purifies the ones that he loves. He makes them shine like pure silver and gold. You and I belong to God, and he wants us to see his glory and call him Lord.
